| 1461. That's how many days i've used xanga. Thank you xanga for that fun fact.
Sometimes the difference between being a mature person and being a child is knowing when to say no. Even when you have do it to somebody's face, in front of a crowd. It is quite easy. I still havn't figured out when you're going to do it.
Good news, I have to decided to go on one of my long fabled xanga hiatus'. It feels like the right time. Summer really is the ideal time to write in xanga. Anyway, I'll probably check in from time to time to make comments but don't expect an entry anytime soon.

| this is for cyd (and anybody else who wants to attempt this). i put the
first line/phrase of a song, you guess the band (and the song if you want to). oh and by the way, its a long list. have fun.
- this battle is in the air
- and it takes more time than i've ever had
- wait, where's your rush, where's your hurry?
- well i met her in a bar, the men with big guitars were playing
- i think of a while ago, we might've had it all
- what brought us together blew the world apart
- what if there was no light
- lift me up on my honor, take me over this spell
- maybe once i thought i knew everything i needed
- war, war, war, war, i want to plan a war
- speak to me in a language i can hear
- when its hot we go down the river and swim
- this old guitar taught me how to sing a love song
- it's summertime and the wind is blowing outside
- pumped sixteen shells from a thirty-ought-six
- i'm sorry it took me so long
- take your white finger, slide the nail under the top and bottom buttons
- i feel uptight when i walk in the city
- silver scents of st. augustine
- i don't get you, i can't forget what you've forgotten
- gray light new day leaks through the window
- once upon a time at the foot of a great mountain
- they say it fits if you let it
- too much information, well i said, you're good for nothing
- about as subtle as an earthquake, i know, my mistakes were made for you

| i escaped hurricane (or tropical storm) fay yesterday and i am now back in lubbock, a day before expected.
some notes:
- i will never sit in the middle seat again on an airplane
- water is amazing
- screw the flight crew last night on the flight to lubbock that said they couldnt serve us drinks because of the turbulance when there was no turbulance
- the movie "turbulance" is horrible
- i'm not going to teach your boyfriend how to dance with you

| for a person who seems to ignore me, you do find the strangest times to talk to me again. i've tried to give up on you and i think i've done a pretty good job of it. i wish you could remember the last time we saw each other but i know it would only be a blur for you. i'm glad that there's only a chance of seeing you maybe 3 times a year at most (and that you'll probably never read this). do you realize that you have the most beautiful face? there's a chance i might come back to lubbock a week earlier than i originally planned. why, you ask? why not. anyway, i might be back in lubbock august 12th, but don't count on it. |

| now that i finally started my summer vacation, i have decided to work on a couple of things: 1) try not to stutter 2) eat less 3) limit my phone use 4) have some patience with my little cousins
5) find a regular sleeping habit/wake up before 11am -edit- well #4 isn't going to work out, at least not for a while. its hard to have patience when you find your headphones completely smashed in and stealthly hidden inside your guitar case. i guess i'll make a new #4. 4) write lyrics/finish songs oh and bloc party released a new song yesterday called mercury. insanely synth driven, much different than their old stuff. it kind of reminds me of the electronic sound that radiohead went for in kid a, which is good. |
